This week’s WordPress Photo Challenge is Curves. I can’t find many straight lines on this amazing ancient vessel, seen at the Archeological Museum in Heraklion, Greece. I love this octopus pot! Advertisements
Recently I visited Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for the second time. Whenever I’m traveling, I ask my cab or shuttle driver, “If I can only visit one attraction in your city before I leave, where do you suggest I go?” On this particular Saturday, it was raining like crazy, and so my hotel shuttle driver Zach suggested an indoor activity: the Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural History. Every week Jake provides a theme for creative inspiration. Bloggers post their interpretations before the following Sunday, when Jake announces the next photo theme. Jake’s Sunday Post this week is Collectibles (check out everyone’s interpretations of the challenge here). As a kid I collected rocks and minerals, and I still enjoy an occasional rockhounding expedition. Last week I visited the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, and they certainly have an impressive collection of rocks and minerals. Here are […]

This week’s WordPress Photo Challenge: Share a picture that is UNFOCUSED! Even though this photo is out of focus, I like it! It’s weird and it also reminds me of a fun day at the museum with my friends. By the way, this museum is the largest science museum in the Western Hemisphere and is a great kid-friendly destination. If you’re a museum lover and you find yourself in Dallas, head downtown to the Arts District and visit the Trammell and Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art. In my opinion, this museum is extraordinary. You can see art from China, Japan, India, and Southeast Asia. This guardian lion is an 18th-century bronze from Nepal.
