Cats of Croatia

During my trip to Croatia, I couldn’t help but notice the large numbers of cats out and about. We saw cats everywhere, and I mean everywhere. Although I am a dog person, I have to admit that the cats of Croatia have a way of charming a tourist with a camera (especially the upside-down kitty on the bench).

Just chillin’ outside of the church

OK, this kitty was definitely hamming it up.

I love all the “noise” in this photo. Stuff everywhere you look…

This feline was not about to let tourists with cameras interrupt an afternoon nap.

Someone who worked at a nearby hotel had a soft spot for stray cats. He or she would leave food items outside of the dumpster, and at any given time at least half a dozen cats gathered to eat. We saw them every day, at all times of the day and night. Finicky eaters? Not his bunch.

This friendly kitten hung around outside of the apartment we rented. On the last day, we treated her to the remaining contents of our refrigerator. What a sweetheart.
