During my trip to Croatia, I couldn’t help but notice the large numbers of cats out and about. We saw cats everywhere, and I mean everywhere. Although I am a dog person, I have to admit that the cats of Croatia have a way of charming a tourist with a camera (especially the upside-down kitty on the bench).
Just chillin’ outside of the church
OK, this kitty was definitely hamming it up.
I love all the “noise” in this photo. Stuff everywhere you look…
This feline was not about to let tourists with cameras interrupt an afternoon nap.
Someone who worked at a nearby hotel had a soft spot for stray cats. He or she would leave food items outside of the dumpster, and at any given time at least half a dozen cats gathered to eat. We saw them every day, at all times of the day and night. Finicky eaters? Not this bunch. If my friend Sue saw these cats, she’d probably try to organize an adopt-a-thon.
This friendly kitten hung around outside of the apartment we rented. On the last day, we treated her to the remaining contents of our refrigerator. What a sweetheart.
Lovely cats and beautiful photographs. Thank you, love, nia

Me too. I still think of that kitten. Hope she’s found a home with someone who cares about her.

Love the second shot – if you’re still there, I hope you find more.

That agile cat is quite photogenic! In what part of Croatia did you snap these, Ruth, and how long were you here in Croatia?

Most were in the vicinity of Dubrovnik, Tricia. I was only there for a week. Not long enough, I think. Croatia is a fascinating country!
