Hiking with Ziggy

A friend came down from Denver last weekend to visit. We had planned a spring hike, but as luck would have it, it snowed like crazy Saturday afternoon and into the night. (Good thing we had a backup plan: drink wine.) Sunday morning, however, was a testament to why I love Colorado: blinding sun and severe blue skies, no matter what other weather phenomenon happened just hours before.

My friend’s dog Ziggy looks like he’s smiling in this photo. I think he enjoyed his weekend away from the urban corridor, exploring offleash. πŸ˜‰ You can also see Blanca Peak in the background, a site sacred to the Navajo.

    • It is really special…yes on all counts. We do have a small grocery store in town, but we’re about 4 hours away from a major airport or shopping mall. And I’m totally fine with that. πŸ˜‰

  1. What a wonderful shot, Ruth! I had the Tatra Mountain range as backdrop some of my time in Poland. You can just stare and stare! That’s as close as I like to get to snow, though πŸ™‚
