Travel Theme: Architecture

Ailsaโ€™s travel theme this week is Architecture. This is one of my favorite shots from my visit to Dubrovnik last year. You can walk on top of this wall and look out over the city and the Adriatic. I didn’t adjust the color on this image; this is how it looked on the day we visited. Simply magical.

  1. Nice angle Ruth, especially set against those ominous clouds.

When I contemplate an ancient castle or cathedral I always wonder whether a latter day architect actually drew detailed plans because I’ve never actually seen any drawings. Either way the skills involved in building these wonderful places are breathtaking!

    • Thanks, Finn! I always think about the skill and labor involved too…and the lack of modern machinery. I always wonder whether our modern buildings will survive for hundreds of years and whether future visitors will appreciate them. Hope you’re having a great summer! ๐Ÿ˜‰
