Ailsa’s travel theme this week is flowers. I live in a high desert region, and flowers here tend to be not so flamboyant and attached to spiny cacti or other prickly plants. So when I travel to a place with a climate conducive to growing bougainvillea flowers, I enjoy every minute that I spend looking at this beautiful plant. Someday I hope to have a greenhouse in my backyard, and then I will try growing one of my own. Thanks for the great challenge and beautiful pics, Ailsa!

I love the wonderful jewel colours of these plants.
